Ms. Church begins with Pie Jesu from Requiem by Andrew Lloyd Webber; continuing into Panis Angelicus by César Franck; In Trutina from Carmina Burana by Carl Orff; and The Lord's Prayer by Albert Hay Malotte. Then, Jerusalem by C. Hubert H. Parry; Ave Maria by Giulio Caccini; Psalm 23 by Colin Mawby.
On to the more secular selections of I Vow to Thee My Country by Gustav Holst and Danny Boy from the old Irish air by Harold Samuel. Then, 2 traditionals – My Lagan Love, and Suo-Gân. Followed by A Lullaby by Hamilton Harty; the traditional Amazing Grace; and Three Welsh Bird Songs by Dilys Elwyn-Edwards.
Ms. Church concludes this cd with Y Gylfinir from the Curfew; Tylluanod from Owls; Mae Hiraeth yn y Môr from There's Longing in the Sea; and lastly, When at Night I Go to Sleep from Hansel and Gretel by Engelbert Humperdinck.
What a glorious way to do a deep relaxation meditation when the stress of holiday or anytime busy-ness tires you. To begin, lie on your back, put your CD on and start even breathing such as breathe in counts 1, 2; breathe out counts 1, 2; breathe in counts 1, 2 and continue the rhythm, but let go of the counting and relax into the sounds of the music.
I highly recommend this quality recording of truly beautiful 'angelic' singing!
