1960 - Joanne Woodward received the first star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Travis Tritt the singer behind such songs as “TROUBLE” and “Here’s a Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)” was born in 1963.

Ernest Tubb the singer best known for the songs “Walking the Floor Over You” and “Waltz Across Texas” was born in 1914.

Alice Walker the author of “The Color Purple” was born in 1944.

Ziyi Zhang the actress who has starred in “Memoirs of a Geisha” and “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” was born in 1979.

Phil Brown who is probably best remembered for his portrayal of Uncle Owen in “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope” passed away in 2006 at the age of 89.

Bill Haley the singer behind a number of hit songs including “Rock Around the Clock” passed away in 1981 at the age of 55.

Gabby Hayes the actor who was often seen as Roy Rogers’ sidekick in films, passed away in 1969 at the age of 84.

Princess Margaret who was part of the United Kingdom’s royal family and sister of Queen Elizabeth II passed away in 2002 at the age of 71.
