Hood has come out with a Carb Countdown dairy beverage. It's 2% reduced fat milk with vitamins A and D, and only 3g carbs per serving. It's really tasty!
This version of milk has 75% fewer carbs plus 50% more protein than whole milk. You can actually keep the milk (unopened) in your fridge for up to a month before opening it. Once you open the container, you need to use it within 7 days. So that works really well for our eating style.
We did taste comparisons with this milk and "regular" 2% milk and they taste pretty much identical. My boyfriend's been using this on his low carb cereal in the morning and loves it. I just did some cooking with the milk and the dish came out perfectly.
The milk provides 35% of your calcium, 25% of your vitamin D and 10% of your vitamin A requirements.
They even have a chocolate milk version that is tasty, too! I highly recommend both for low carb dieters who want to keep some milk in their diet. This blend gives you all of the nutrients and benefits, and cuts out the bad fats and sugars!
