Alternative Medicine Treatments

One aspect about Body Care that interest a large number of health conscious people are exploring other personal care methods to improve one's health. One health treatment method creating a lot of buzz is alternative medicine. Alternative medicine was once frowned upon by those who believed in more traditional forms of medicine, but recent studies show that many alternative medicine treatments are a reasonable way to treat many health conditions. This does not suggest we ignore more traditional medicine treatments, but that there is more than one type of treatment for many medical conditions. Let's take a closer look at a few popular alternative medicine treatments.

Acupuncture is an ancient traditional Chinese medicine gaining a lot of attention. The practitioners insert needles through the invisible meridians in the body to remove blockages to the body's chi. Chinese medicine belief is that an imbalance in the body's energy or chi leads to sickness.

Acupressure is another Chinese Tradition Medicine that believes that disease in the body is related to chi flow. Acupressure uses the fingers to place pressure on specific parts of the body where the chi is blocked. This pressure is thought to remove any blockages and release the energy.

A health problem that millions face daily is a problem with their back, neck pain, joint pains, and headaches. Most of us take a pain pill and hope for the best. Today, people are turning to Chiropractic doctors to cure their pain. Chiropractics are highly trained and skilled people who are trained specifically to work with the nervous system and muscular-skeletal system by working the hands around the spine area in the body.

Homeopathic Medicine
People are turning to the homeopathic medicine which believes in natural healing. The Homeopathic practitioner uses various diluted natural substances to cure the patient's symptoms.

Massage Therapists
Massage therapists are highly trained individuals who use their hands to massage muscles with various healing lotions and oils to improve the patient's circulation and relieve pain and tension in the body. The belief is that the massage helps to invigorate the immune system and improve health.

Note: Always check with your doctor before beginning any type of alternative medical treatment.
