The Daily Caloric Tab of the Biggest Loser SlimCoach system supposedly lets you see at a glance how your calories burned is matching up against the calories you ingest. Unfortunately neither number is accurate at all. The results are wildly off.
Here is what the page is showing.
So it is showing I burned 1780 calories, and ingested 1200 calories. Both of those are WRONG.
First, on the burned side. In my first day I burned 830 calories through activity. My total caloric burn for the day including my BMR was 2180 calories. So this number is neither of those.
Next, my calories consumed. They claim I ate 1200 calories. But my detailed calorie tracker - which is accurate down to the ounce, as I was measuring out my food items to give this a thorough test, shows this -
So absolutely I only ingested 545 calories.
Through numerous tests with my boyfriend, here is what we found.
Its calorie burn value is incorrect. It doesn't show accurate burn information.
Starting with that, the system then looks at your weight loss as reported by you. So it takes the calories you burned, figures in the weight loss you reported, and decides that any discrepancy in that must therefore be the food you ate. So it *guesstimates* what your food intake was. This even though you are reporting your food intake right in their system!
As a female, I currently have a period for a quarter of each month. That means for that quarter that I have water bloating. Their claim that I must be eating food could easily just be that I'm bloating with water for that period. It makes no sense for them to assume "Oh she must be eating more than she says".
After all, this is my healthy I'm tracking, and I'm doing it accurately. The system then deliberately shows me inaccurate numbers, ignoring mine. I just don't get it.
