Sugar Sweet Body Scrub Recipes

Natural or home made body scrubs are a healthier alternative to many of the body scrubs manufactured by large skin care companies. In fact, sugar scrubs are a wonderful sweet way to cleanse the skin, remove dead skin cells, and reveal new improved looking skin. Isn't it time that you made body scrubs a part of your regular skin care routine?

How to Use Body Scrubs

It is easy to use a body scrub to chase all that dull dry skin away and reveal the new, smoother, younger looking skin underneath. First, it is a good idea to use the body scrub after a shower or bath. Wash the skin thoroughly in your normal fashion. Rinse your entire body with warm water to remove all lather or soap. Take a handful of the sugar body scrub and place on a wet wash cloth. Rub the sugar scrub all over the body in a circular motion. Avoid sensitive skin and the eye area. Rinse the body scrub off the body under a warm shower at the end of the treatment. Dry your body off with a towel and moisturize the skin.

Natural Sugar/ Honey Scrub Recipe

1 Cup Granulated Sugar
 Cup Honey
 Cup Oatmeal
 Cup Ground Almonds
1/4 Cup Vitamin E Oil

Natural Sugar and Spice Scrub

 Cup Baking Soda
2 Tablespoons White Sugar
1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
 Teaspoon Ground Ginger
1/4 Teaspoon Ground Cloves

Take the ingredients and mix together in a large bowl until they form a paste like consistency. Store the ingredients in a jar until ready to use. Note: test the scrubs on a small area on your skin to make sure that it does not irritate your skin. Don't stop with these recipes. Get creative and make your own personal body scrub using ingredients that you favor. Add scented oils, flowers, natural herbs. Scented oils are available in stores or you might like to add natural herbs and flowers found in your garden. Remember to recycle. Use old baby food jars, jelly jars, or honey jars to store the ingredients. Make sure that the jars are thoroughly washed and steamed clean before using them to store the sugar body scrubs.
