Barberry
The barberry was used by the first American settlers to treat various ailments and to strengthen the entire body. Herbalists agree that indeed the barberry herb is a valuable treatment, in measured doses, for ulcers, heartburn, and other stomach ailments.
Bayberry
This is a small shrub like plant found frequently in the eastern part of the United States. The fragrant berries are used to make those wonderfully scented bayberry candles that are found in the stores during the holidays. Bayberry root bark is used to make a tea which is consumed for diarrhea problems.
Black Cohosh
American Native Indians used the root of the black cohosh plant to produce a tasty tea that is consumed to treat sore throats and women’s health conditions. Today, many modern day women discovered that a herbal tea made with black cohosh is very helpful in easing PMS and menopausal symptoms.
Bran
Bran is the rough outer hull of the wheat plant. Herbalists find that bran is a wonderful natural fiber supplement. Studies show that people who consume bran are less prone to many gastrointestinal diseases.
Burdock
Burdock was used widely in European cultures for hundreds of years before making its way to America. The leaves and roots of this plant are used to treat various ailments. The Burdock plant has been used to treat various skin conditions and to detoxify and cleanse the blood.
