Ten Herbal Cures Traditional Medicine Ignores

Herbal cures are very popular with many people. The majority of those cures were shared by family members and following generations in the family. Some regard these cures as old family remedies, but the fact is that they are true folk medicine. Folk medicine or herbal cures were prevalent among early settlers in many cultures and ancient cultures around the world.

Many cures that rely on herbs are nevertheless very popular today. In fact, many enlightened physicians are treating patients with a combination of traditional medicine combined with herbal cures while other traditional doctors choose to ignore the healing qualities found in Mother Nature. Here is a list of common herbal cures.

Athlete's Foot
Suffering with athlete's foot? A common herbal-based cure is to use herbs with anti-fungal properties. Try essential herbal oils like myrrh, tea tree, or garlic.

Bad Breath
Take a sprig of parsley and chew on it for several minutes to cure bad breath.

Colds and Flu
Viruses are responsible for causing the common cold. Viruses quickly spread through touch, sneezing, or sharing objects. The best preventive treatment is to wash the hands often. Otherwise, chew on pieces of garlic to prevent colds and flu. Also, drink fresh ginger root tea daily to stop the cold and flu virus.

Constipation
Consume two or three tablespoons of flaxseed per day to end constipation problems. Remember to drink plenty of water throughout the day to flush the digestive system.

Flatulence
Everybody gets gas once in a while. Gas is a very embarrassing problem if you are in a social situation. Stop the problem before it starts by drinking a soothing cup of peppermint or lemon balm tea sweetened with honey.

Heartburn
Many believe that a nice cup of chamomile tea is a good cure for heartburn and other stomach ailments.

Insomnia
Restless nights keeping you awake? Well try drinking a cup of lemon balm tea before retiring for the night. The tea soothes the stomach and relaxes the body.

Psoriasis
Here is an old folk remedy for the skin problem used for years. Take an avocado and mash it up into a pulp. Rub the mashed avocado on the patch of psoriasis. It should feel very soothing and help to heal the skin.

Sunburn
Sunburned skin is painful. Apply aloe to the sunburned skin to ease and soothe the area.

Toothache
Take some clove oil and apply it directly to the tooth. The clove oil should ease the pain.
