Sunset Campari Tomato Review

What is the taste that conjures memories of summer for you? Lemonade, potato salad, or a smoky grilled burger? For me it is, always and forever, a juicy tomato. Slightly acidic and sweet, a summer tomato makes anything taste better. But in these days of food that is produced to be shipped around the world, these tasty tomato treats are increasingly difficult to find, even in the hot days of summer. Would you be surprised to discover that you can get a good tomato twelve months out of the year? Seek out your local purveyor of Sunset Campari Tomatoes, and your gustatory life will improve!

These tomatoes are not the huge, tasteless slicing tomatoes that are so often sold in grocery stores. The tomatoes are small. They are attached to stems, and they smell fresh. What kind of nutrition is available when you eat one of these little beauties? A serving of 100 grams (about 3.5 ounces) of Sunset Campari tomatoes has just 25 calories and 5 grams of carbohydrate. They include 6% of the required daily allowance of Vitamin A and 15% of the RDA of Vitamin C. They are also a good source of lycopenes, powerful anti-oxidants that protect the body's cells.

Use the Sunset Campari tomatoes like you would a fresh-from-the-garden tomato. A sliced tomato on sourdough bread with mayo is a true delight. Dress your sandwiches with juicy slices of tomato. Use them in side dishes to serve with your sandwiches.

Here are some suggestions from the recipes on this site. Related links contain the recipes that you can use with your delicious tomatoes. If a recipe calls for cherry or grape tomatoes, just cut your Campari tomatoes into small pieces.

I buy my Sunset Campari Tomatoes at my local Costco Warehouse in the two pound clamshell. They go too quickly to buy a smaller container. Hy-Vee carries them sometimes in the smaller size, and I have also seen them at a Wal-Mart.

What is it about the Sunset Campari Tomatoes that sets them apart from most commercially produced tomatoes? Simply put, it's the taste. Bite into one, close your eyes, and revel in the taste of summer. Then, let us know how you used your tomatoes to enhance your sandwich meals. Post in the BellaOnline Sandwiches Forum to share your ideas.
