Total Body Care Doesn't Have To Be Hard

Total Body Care does not have to be hard. It just takes a little common sense. Total Body Care should include special attention to the body, mind, and spirit. Check out the following.

Bathing Routines
A bath is actually a very easy way to refresh the mind and body. Simply use these precautions. Always bathe in warm water. Never hot water. Hot water dries the skin. Make the bath a truly enjoyable experience by adding a few scented candles, enriched bath salts, and skin oils to the water. Settle back in the water and relax for about fifteen minutes. Cleanse the skin with a soft sponge or bath cloth. Add a body wash or nourishing soap to complete the process. Afterwards, rinse off and apply your favorite moisturizer to the skin while still damp to seal in moisture.

Skin Care
Apply nourishing skin cleanser on dry and normal skin. Oily skin types should apply a suitable cleanser for their skin type. Cleanse skin in the morning and at night to remove makeup and grime. Smooth enriched daily sunscreen with at least a SPF 15 to protect the skin while out in the sun. Moisturize skin daily with a suitable moisturizer for your skin type.

Drink Water
Improve your health with water. That's right. Your body is mostly water and requires water to function properly. Every cell in your body is comprised of water. Think of water like fuel for the body to keep it running smoothly. The amount of water required for your body is dependent on several factors which include age, sex, weight, and general health. Generally, it is suggested that you drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. Obviously, it is difficult for most people to drink that amount of water. Therefore, seek alternative methods. Drink juice, tea, bottled water. Fruits and vegetables with heavy water content are good choices too.

Daily exercise will do wonders for your health and fitness level. First, choose an exercise that you truly enjoy. This should keep you motivated to practice regularly. For example, perhaps you enjoy jogging, walking, or pilates. Start slow. Perhaps three times per week for about twenty minutes. Gradually increase to 60 minutes per day 5x per week. Throw in aerobics, strength training, and cardiovascular exercise to work the entire body. Be sure to talk over your exercise plans with your health care provider before starting any exercise regimen.

Learning to relax reduces stress. Take ten or fifteen minutes a day to simply sit in a quiet room and relax. Try to calm the mind and breathe in and out normally while in a comfortable sitting position. Listen to relaxing music, if it helps to calm you.

Get Enough Sleep
Can't sleep? Insomnia is disturbance in sleep patterns. Insomnia occurs due to a number of factors. For example, noisy environment, stress, or an undiagnosed medical condition. Search for reasons causing the condition and act upon them.

Treat Yourself
Often, we do more for others than ourselves. This is especially true for mothers and women in general. This leads to feeling unappreciated, resentment, frustration, and anger that stay bottled up. Those bottled up emotions lead to further health conditions. Here is an idea: Treat yourself to something special at least once per month. Make it something small or grande. Just make it something very personal. Perhaps, a dinner at a favorite restaurant, purchasing a special outfit, watching a favorite movie, reading a favorite book, taking a luxurious bath, or simply taking a day to relax.
