Tzatziki - Greek Yogurt Dip

Tzatziki is a Greek yogurt dip that is fresh, cucumber based, and very healthy. It is the perfect way to introduce more vegetables into your diet. It is also very low in sugar, naturally!

The tzatziki dip I can find in my supermarket is made by Cedar's. I like the blend of cucumber and garlic flavors. Yogurt is the number one ingredient, followed by fresh cucumbers, then sunflower oil, olive oil and garlic. This is most definitely a healthy product.

In terms of the nutrition label it offers only 2g per serving which is 35 calories. You get no trans fats at all, only 55mg of sodium, 1g of protein, and only 2.5g of fat. This is perfect for pretty much any type of diet you choose to follow. It is fresh, flavorful, and healthy.

I like to have this with fresh celery and broccoli. It adds a nice dollop of flavor onto those fresh veggies. even better, you can set up your veggies - carrots, celery, broccoli and so on - with a selection of different dips. Dip into the tzatziki. Dip into the hummus. Whatever strikes your fancy, you get a taste of it. It encourages you to love veggies, to eat more of them, to get in your nutrition and fiber and to stay full in a healthy manner.

For people who aren't huge fans of yogurt, it really doesn't taste like dipping something into straight yogurt. There are nice spices and flavors in here that give it more of a fresh, creamy flavor. Think of it as a dip rather than a yogurt.

You do need to refrigerate it, and for people who are lactose intolerant, be aware that this does have some milk in it. you'll want to try it in small doses until you determine how well it works for you.

Still, I highly recommend this. Pretty much every single person on the planet needs to eat more fresh vegetables in their diet. That is the one universal need that we all have. If you add Tzatziki into your mix of available foods, and use this technique to eat more fresh veggies as healthy snacks in between your meals, you will keep your metabolism revved up and stay a healthy person!
