Yogurt is healthy for you, but it's also full of sugar. Dannon has come out with a low sugar variety of yogurt that has only 3g of carbs.
I've never been a big fan of yogurt - the only one I really enjoyed was Yoplait because it was so smooth and creamy. So I am happy to say that I'm quite pleased with Dannon - it seems to match that same smooth, creamy sweet flavor without the sharp aftertaste some yogurts have. It's sweetened with Splenda.
I like the raspberries and cream variety, but there are many other flavors to choose from as well. The 4oz size seems small at first, but it really is quite filling and now seems a perfect size.
If you think "Oh Yogurt isn't that bad", Dannon lists right on the container that regular lowfat yogurt has a whopping 19g of sugars for 4oz!! It's amazing that Dannon was able to reduce that to only 3g in this low carb version, and still kept all the flavor. It's also amazing that sugar is in SO much "healthy" food where it doesn't need to be! No wonder we all get tubby.
With yogurt providing calcium and other health benefits, any yogurt eaters who want to cut out sugar should look into the Dannon flavors. This isn't just about low carb eating - it's about eating healthy foods without downing tablespoons of sugar along with it!
