Planner Sticker Kit - Weekend, Washi & The Sidebar

In this third tutorial, we will continue to discuss the most common stickers found in a digital sticker kit. The digital sticker kit is one of the most popular products sold on sites such as Etsy and Creative Market.

In the previous two tutorials, we started decorating a weekly calendar spread by placing Day Covers and Number Covers over the pre-labeled day names/numbers and discussed how to use Header stickers to add a title at the top of a Notes area, To Do and other lists. Next, we concentrated on stickers used to decorate the individual calendar boxes, including the Check List Box, Check List Strip, Quote Box and Appointment Labels. So what's next?

Weekend Banner
You might have noticed the weekly calendar layout usually starts with Monday, instead of the traditional Sunday. This is because most planner lovers like to have a two-day weekend spread and there are many stickers for this double-box.

Some of my favorite stickers are the Weekend Banner stickers (see screenshot). These banners come in many shapes and help to breakup the repetition of the boxes.

Washi Tape
Washi tape is very popular, so it's no surprise that a sticker kit would include digital Washi tape. Many planner lovers use these thin strips of pattern or color along the top and bottom edge of the layout. They also use them to separate the boxes in a calendar layout.

Flags and Other Shapes
For those important, do not forget, events, we have several small stickers that can be placed within one box to draw attention to that special day. My favorite is the Flag sticker (see screenshot), which ranges from small Flags that are placed in the corner of a box to larger flags that have a space to add text. Other shapes include circles (see screenshot), half circles (see screenshot), stars and Sticky Notes. Of course, we also have themed shapes such as flowers for Spring, spiders for October and Xmas ornaments for December.

Sidebar
One feature in the weekly layout is the Sidebar (see screenshot). In this two page spread there are 4 day columns on one page and 3 day columns on the other page. So that gives us an empty space next to the 3 day columns. This space is called the Sidebar.

Because the Sidebar is empty, it's a great place for vertical stickers, including a Habit Tracker, To Do list or Notes. One of my favorite stickers for this area is the Mini Calendar, usually showing the current month. You can place this sticker at the top or bottom of the Sidebar and still have room for more stickers.
