Many low carb pasta are questionable on flavor. Monterey's low carb pasta is actually quite tasty, with 50% the carbs of normal pasta.
Note that this is a FRESH pasta, i.e. in a plastic container found in your deli section. This is NOT the dried-out boxed stuff that you find over in the pasta shelves. This distinction alone counts for a lot of the better flavor. If you start with a dried-out product, you would get a dried-out flavor. Fresh is always better!
This is 15g per serving, so it's not suited for people in the beginning of a low carb diet. However at less than half the levels of normal pasta, this is great for people in the long term low carb diet who want a tasty pasta treat.
We've tried this pasta many different ways - most recently with the Ragu low carb alfredo sauce. That is just about a perfect combination. The pasta is tender and great textured, with the spinach and tortellini flavors providing the base texture. The Ragu alfredo sauce gives the creamy sauce and flavors to go with it.
Well recommended as an occasional treat!
