Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

Cinnamon Rolls

Start these delicious sweet cinnamon rolls in the bread machine.

  • 1 cup slightly warm milk
  • 1 egg - beaten
  • 4 T. melted butter
  • 4 T. water
  • 1/2 box (3.4 oz. size) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 T. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2-1/2 tsp. active dry yeast

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup raisins

  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 3 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1-1/2 cups Confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp. salt

Preparation -
Place all the dough ingredients in a bread machine in the order listed. Set on the dough cycle. When the cycle is finished, remove the dough and punch it down. Roll out the dough on a floured board to about a 12" x 20" rectangle.

Prepare the filling ingredients - Combine the butter, brown sugar and cinnamon in a microwave safe bowl. Heat the mixture in a microwave oven for about 10 seconds or just long enough to make it spreadable. Spread the mixture over the entire dough rectangle. Sprinkle the raisins evenly over top. Starting at the wide end, roll the dough into a log, jelly roll style. Cut the rolled up dough into 12 equal slices. Lay the sliced rolls in a large, greased baking pan. (A 9" x 13" pan is okay but a larger, lasagna size pan is better). Cover the filled pan with a clean cloth and place the filled pan in a warm place for about 30 to 45 minutes or until the rolls are doubled in size. Remove the cover and bake in a preheated oven at 350º for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan.

Prepare the frosting - In a small bowl combine the cream cheese, butter, vanilla and milk and mix well. Add the Confectioners' sugar and beat until smooth. Spread on slightly warm rolls.
