It is fun and very empowering to make your own natural body lotions and body creams because you have complete control over the type of ingredients used in the preparation. This reduces the amount of chemicals used and is a healthy alternative to commercial preparations. These suggested formula's are a great way to keep dry skin moisturized and glowing. Use the formulas exclusively or in combination with your favorite body lotions. The ingredients used to create the natural body lotions and creams are found at most health food stores. And don't forget to purchase a few decorative glass containers to store the natural body lotions and creams.
Basic Summer Care Body Lotion
Great natural basic summer body lotion to make for mere fraction of cost most natural lotions.
1 cup Aloe Vera Gel
1 teaspoon of Lanolin
1 teaspoon pure Vitamin E Oil
1/3 cup Coconut Oil
½ ounce Beeswax
3/4 cup Almond Oil
½ teaspoon of your favorite essential oil (rose, lavender, jasmine)
Take the Aloe Vera Gel, Lanolin, and the Vitamin E Oil and place them in a blender. Place the Coconut Oil and Beeswax in a large measuring cup. Microwave the ingredients on high for about 30 seconds, and stir. Repeat heating in the microwave and stirring until the ingredients are completely melted. Then stir in the almond oil. Turn on the blender. Blend ingredients in the blender on low setting. Then pour in the melted oils. The mixture should turn a creamy white as the oils are blended. Once blended stop the blender. Add the essential oils and continue blending until a creamy consistency. Stop the blender and quickly pour the creamy mixture into a glass container with top while still warm.
Cocoa Butter Body Cream
This is one of my favorite recipes because it makes an excellent summer body skin smoother and cream.
4 tablespoons Beeswax
4 tablespoons Cocoa Butter
4 tablespoons Almond Oil
Melt the Cocoa Butter and Beeswax together in a microwave bowl. Add almond oil. Mix the ingredients together until they are smooth. Pour the mixture into a decorative jar. The mixture should harden quickly and is then ready to use.
