Copycat Recipe - Colonel's Cole Slaw
8 cups grated cabbage
1/3 cup finely grated carrots
2 T. dehydrated minced onion
1/2 tsp. celery seed
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup buttermilk
2-1/2 T. lemon juice
1-1/2 T. white vinegar
2 drops hot pepper sauce, such as Tabasco (optional)
Preparation - Mix the grated cabbage, grated carrots, minced onion, celery seed, sugar, salt and pepper together in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk the mayonnaise, buttermilk, lemon juice, vinegar, and hot sauce together. Pour over the cabbage mixture and stir to mix well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
