Book Review - Daddy, I Forgive You

C.J. Wilkes is a survivor of childhood abuse. She was inappropriately touched and abused by her father. She strives to help others that endured similar abuses. C.J. has masterfully put into words what every victim of childhood abuse, in the context of inappropriate touching, feels at some point in their journey towards healing. Additionally, she addresses those feelings that many Christians must go through as they struggle to find peace within themselves.

C.J. talks candidly about emotions and feelings that the victim may feel, such as guilt, shame, anger, and fear. She speaks of having found herself, as so many others have, in a place of wishing that God would hear her continual pleas for help from the abuse.

Yet, in the entirety of her story, she never once puts the reader through the trauma she has endured. Instead, she takes the reader on a journey of finding a place of healing deep within herself. She leads the reader through paths of forgiveness and self-peace. C.J. Wilkes help to bring the reader to a point of knowing that God truly does care for the victim and that He longs to embrace them in His loving arms.
