Dealing with Mother & Father Day
Mother's Day and Father's Day is celebrated the world over annually. What happens when your mother or father was your abuser and not all the loving things the media proclaims for weeks before? How do you handle these days then? Below are a few ideas from people in support groups which may help you.

Victims Above Perpetrators
I have always been very concerned about the legal procedures involving the victim that follow once abuse has been reported and court proceedings eventually commence and why various legal experts and therapists feel it is more important to attempt a conviction than offering the victim therapy.

Abuse on the Increase
Abuse. So much has been written on various forms of abuse. It has been discussed by numerous experts; prevention and treatment programmes have been set up; survivors have braved secondary trauma by following through in ineffective legal sytems the world over. Why is abuse on the increase then?

Spiritual roots of abuse
Ever wondered why going for therapy with various professionals did not help? Why joining a support group and religiously following all the steps, did not help break the cycle of abuse?

Coping without family support
One of the worst things that can happen to a person that has suffered abuse; is the lack of support and understanding from their family when their lives spiral out of control.
