Ireland Keeping Kosher

Ireland has a long-standing and harmonious relationship with her Old Testament residents. Now kosher-observant visitors, Jews working in Ireland, and even members of the native Irish-Jewish community can find a kosher meal outside of a private home.

Thanks to Rabbi Zalman Lent, the Chabad rabbi in Dublin, and his wife, Rifky, Dublin now has a house with kosher facilities for students and young professionals. Located in a former Jewish retirement home near the core of Dublin’s Jewish population on the city’s south side, the house is open to any Jews living in, working in, or visiting Dublin. Shabbat meals are also available at the center.

Doubtless Dublin, with its infusion of workers from the four corners of the world, will soon see exotic eateries of all stripes in the near future.
