This book is not specifically for Halloween but with the monsters and scary things that evolve around Halloween, this is a good book to read to preschools. This is a classic tale of a little old lady who is making her way through the forest to go home. She comes across some scary things but she lets everything know that she is not afraid. I think this is a great read for those kids who scare easy and need some self-esteem to not be afraid of things we know aren’t real. Making your voice change to match the character who is talking is a great way to get children’s attention!


This board book is based on the fingerplay of the same name. The pictures offer a more visual effect for when you recite it during storytime/circle time.


In this tale, mouse learns to not jump to conclusions because he hears what could be a scary sound. The artwork in this book is awesome. Making the sound effects of the noises he is hearing is fun for preschoolers.


A cute story that tells how Emily puts together her Halloween costume. Children can interact with this story by trying to guess what is going to happen next.


This silly story tells how a witch moves into a house that has 10 ghosts in it. She does different things to chase the ghosts away. My 3 ½ year old loves trying to find the ghosts on each page.


The poor witch in this tale just can’t seem to get her witchy things to go right. What’s a witch to do? The ending will surprise you!
