The year my son was four was the year he decided to be a Power Ranger- the blue one to be specific. I figured there would be plenty of these, so I waited until one week before Halloween to go and purchase the costume. Boy, was I wrong! If you are making a costume-

First check out the costume supplies you likely have on hand. For example, if your dear daughter wishes to be a princess there is a good chance you may have many of the accessories in the house. Look through your child's dress up bin, as well as fancy hand me down dresses from older relatives or friends. Host a costume party swap if you'd like, and have everyone bring their unwanted dress up clothes to swap or share. Just be sure that the items being swapped are clean and free of lice.

If cleaning the house doesn't garnish a costume ready supply of goodies you can make a costume. Family Fun Magazine always offers tons of great homemade costume ideas, along with step by step instructions for making them. If you don't subscribe to Family Fun have no fear, you can visit them online and get the ideas and directions, too. The costumes they suggest are often easy to make, with many of them requiring little or no sewing.
