Buddhist eBooks

I enjoy reading almost anything that I can get my hands. Manypublic libraries may not have easy access to religious topics such as Buddhism. I have found eBooks to be a great alternative to the public library and a lot easier on the budget.

Be advised that you will probably need Adobe Reader in order to open and view these e-books.

A special thanks to all of you who have sent me links to these great sites.

Sutra Translation Committee
Not all of the books on this site are available as e-books. You will need to e-mail them for a hard copy of those not online. This site has around 18 eBooks available online or in PDF.

Buddha Net
Buddha Net has a large selection of eBooks divided into six categories.

General Buddhism
Buddhist Meditation
Texts and Teachings - Theravadin Suttas
Texts and Teachings - Mahayana Sutras
Buddhist History and Art
Children’s Books

This makes it easy to quickly find what you are looking for. I would recommend Buddha Net if your computer is limited on space or has trouble handling PDF’s because they tell you how large the file is at a glance.

Because of how Buddha Net has their library laid out it is easy to navigate and does not require hardly any waiting time for the pages to come up.

So if you have an older computer or you are on dial up I would recommend checking out Buddha Net for their selection of eBooks.

Buddhist eBooks
This site has the advantage of having the books available to read online. I found these books to not only contain excellent information but presents that info in an easy to understand and entertaining format. If you have a teen who is interested in Buddhism this is an ideal site for them.

Dharma Corner
This is a huge online libraries of dharma books. They have eBooks on almost every aspect of Buddhism by authors from many different schools of Buddhist thought. With over 700 titles all for the asking and all free of charge this site alone will provide you with enough reading material for years to come.

I have found one site that will send you actual books for free. Granted it will take several weeks to receive them and the quality is ok, they are still great for those of us on a tight budget! I have received about 5 books from this site and 2 posters from this site. Dharma Material

Do you know of any good sites to add to the list? Mail me or post them in the forums!
