Greetings and welcome to the Buddhism site of BellaOnline.com. I have always been fascinated by the many diverse religions of the world. My fascination and study began at the young age of 13 when I started to question what I was being taught in the Sunday School classes of the Nazarene Church I had been attending with a lady I babysat for. While growing up, my parents were Agnostic. We weren’t taught a specific religion. When my parents couldn’t answer my questions, I turned to the neighbor I was babysitting for. Dad granted me permission to go to her church. I have read the Christian Bible many times. A World History class in high school sparked my interest for world religions. I was fascinated by the many Gods of different cultures.

I have studied Buddhism intensely for about 5 years. In 2006, I was introduced to Dagom Gaden Tensung Ling Buddhist Monastary. After attending many events, lectures, discourses, and meditations, I decided to delve into Tibetan/Mahayana/Gelugpa traditions. I am excited about writing for the Buddhism section because I can share with you what I know and what I will learn while researching what I don’t know.

On a more personal note, I am a mother of 2 beautiful children and step-mother to 2 wonderful teenagers. My oldest has taken an interest in Buddhism (as of this writing he is 7). So in my quest for knowledge, he and I talk about what I am reading and I also try to find books for children to explain the teachings. I was handfasted on May 5th, 2007 to my best friend, Charles. We have been through much happiness, some bad times, and many trials but he and I make it through together. I thank the Gods everyday for bringing me into the life of this man. I am a legally ordained minister in the state of Ohio to perform marriages. I am an aspiring novelist. I am working on 2 novels as of this writing. I am a college student majoring in Technical Communications. I also write for the Domestic Violence Site here at BellaOnline.com. When I am not doing all of this writing, you can find me with my nose in a book, out in nature with my kids and husband, making Altered Books, trying new recipes, shopping, or curled up watching one of the CSI programs or show like 20/20 and Dateline. Did I also mention I hold down a full-time job as an office assistant at a world-wide company that makes electronics, appliances and motors?
