Making Your Own Perfumes

Saving money is on the minds of almost everyone. You want to save money, but do you want to do without luxuries? Absolutely not! You can easily make your own recipes for perfume and cologne. This is one luxury you will not have to do without.

Perhaps you even have your own craft business in mind. Fragranced items are good sellers. You would need to check with your local and state taxation and licensing boards to make sure you are legal in every way. Some areas do not require you to lease any commercial space to make personal luxury items. It pays to check out all legal areas before you start a business.

When the holiday season approaches, you could also think of homemade perfumes and colognes as great gifts to give. Besides not emptying your wallet, these gifts will be unique and appreciated. Other gift giving times come to mind as well, such as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, showers, and graduation. There are probably more occasions that you could think of.

You will be creating your own custom fragrances here, so keep in mind that you have control of the fragrance. If you find any of the recipes too strong, you might want to subtract an ingredient, or cut down on how much is used. On the other hand, if the odor is too weak, you may want to add more. Everyone has their own individual taste.

Should you be under the legal alcohol age limit depending on where you reside, you may want to ask an adult to make recipes containing alcohol for you. Perfumes and colognes that you make yourself sometimes contain alcohol.

If you are just going to experiment with this, you may want to purchase just one non-expensive pan and a bamboo spoon aside from your regular pots, pans and utensils. They would be used expressly for the purpose of making your own fragrances. Should you decide to delve more deeply into this, you may want to invest in two or more pans and sets of spoons. No matter how much you wash the utensils, you donít really want to use them for cooking at other times.

Before you start this venture, look at different recipes and see where you will find the ingredients for what you want to make. Some items can be purchased at a regular grocery store or super grocery store. You may find your local drugstore to be quite helpful in securing your items.

If you search on the internet for perfume oils, you may also find online purchasing to be what you are looking for. Usually companies that supply perfume oils have everything you need to finish the recipe purchases right there. Comparing prices and availability will be in your best interest at that time.

The bottles and other containers that you will put your own homemade concoctions in can also come from anywhere. To save money, flea markets and garage sales may be a good place to start looking. Again, the internet will also come in handy for this venture as well.
