The Magic of Fragrance

From perfumes to body oils, fragrances have been deemed to possess a sense of magic about them. Have you ever walked through a mist or space and the aroma that rose up from that space sent you into sensual bliss?

I have! In the spring time when taking my morning walks, honeysuckles will grace me with their beautiful scents. Walking into the supermarket last week, I was greeted by cinnamon. I was confused at first because the spice isle is not at the front of the store, it was the cinnamon brooms that arrive this time of year. It's the Fall season and it's fragrances will fill the air.

But is this all magical? Yes, it is! According to the Ancient Egyptians, a fragrance can take you through gateways into other dimensions. It is said that the scent of the lotus flower can provide you with the quickest and most powerful keys to unlocking your psychic powers.

Even if you don't believe in psychic powers, the fact that scents and aroma can trigger stored memories of Grandma's house as well as a vacation you took with your family to the mountains, is true.

How Do You Experience The Magic of Fragrance

Often just removing the cap from a bottle of your favorite essential oil will allow you to experience the magic of a fragrance. But it's often done by using incense, diffusers, scented candles, natural aromas and of course perfumes.

Incense in stick form have the advantage over other incense. You can mix fragrances by lighting two or three different scents at once. Incense were and still are burned in the Catholic church during sunday sermons and at funerals.

Diffusers allow you to add a few drops of essential oil to water. The heat creates a steam and in essence the aroma of the oil begins to add fragrance to the air.

Scented Candles are still used to add fragrance to a room or terrace. Burning a scented candle can set the mood of a room during dinner parties or social gatherings.

Natural Aromas experienced from outdoor walks and flower gardens will bring a sense of wonder to your nose. This is Mother Nature at her best. There's nothing like being on a nature trail or sitting in a flower garden and inhaling the beauty of the flowers and herbs that are growing there.

Perfume is by far the best known way that most people experience the beauty and magic of fragrance. The blend of essential oils create some to the most inciting scent blends known to man. This is where most of you actually experience the magic of fragrance.

Until Next Time,

Life Never Smelled So Sweet!
