As in all things, it is always best to know the facts, so you can make wise decisions. You should be aware of how others operate in the world of sweepstaking, in other words, know what the odds are.
Learning to assess a risk is vital to becoming an ace sweepstaker. As you advance into sweepstaking, you are going to have to know how to evaluate sweepstakes odds, your time and financial investment. You are serious about winning, right?
I’m telling you all the facts up front, so you don’t get discouraged. This is a great hobby with many levels of sweepers. I call the levels the Freshmen, or beginners, the Moderates and then there are the Big Boys. Just starting out, naturally you are going to be a little apprehensive. When you see win lists posted by some, you may think there must be something wrong with you or your techniques. Don’t worry, hang in there.
If financially or time-wise, you can only send ten entries a month, believe that it’s enough. If you start comparing yourself to some of the Big Boys who are churning out 400-600 entries a month, you could get disheartened. I have won many a contest on just one entry.
If you have read some of the previous articles, then good, I still have your attention. It means you are really interested and willing to learn. Now if you can parlay that into a commitment, then you have a winning combination.
Try to commit to hanging in there for 6 months and I think you may experience that wonderful high called, “A Win.” It takes commitment, because the contests you are entering today, will probably not be drawn for 2-4 months, and then it could take another month to be notified. Right from the start, you are looking at 2-3 months of work, before you see any fruit. Of course there are always exceptions to this. You could enter your first short running contest and have a win within your first month.
Always remember, when that hand reaches in for the winning envelope, it can’t discern if that envelope was sent in by a “Freshman,” a “Big Boy,” a veteran sweeper or a beginner, it’s just looking for An Envelope, and hopefully, it will be yours.
