Skin Care Products for Skin of Color

Months ago, I happened to meet a woman whose job I found most interesting. She is a cosmetic chemist. Maya is her name, and she has more than fifteen years of experience in creating personal care products derived from organic recipes. Maya the chemist explained that having grown up in Haiti, it seemed she had the innate knowledge that plants, and flowers contain healing properties. She also stated that although people go to doctors, yet many create their own healing concoctions. Therefore, as one who did this in her homeland, these self styled remedies she applied to both skin and hair. It was out of this sense of curiosity, and study, in later years, that Morganna's Alchemy was born.

The chemist also let me know that although she has been in business for many years, she was developing her line of Phyto Dermo Cosmeceuticals long before that. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that she named her skincare line after the enchantress Morganna. It seems this medieval sprite, skilled in the art of changing shape -- also known as Morgan le Fay in Arthurian legend -- spent her life seeking the fountain of youth. In one traditional story, she was even known as King Arthur's sister, and learned the mystical from Merlin the magician. Maya, our chemist also let me know that she added the word 'alchemy' to Morganna's name because alchemy is the ancient science by which many attempted to turn metal into gold.

So named, the modern day products that I speak of are derived using active ingredients from plant extracts, and differ from organic lines in that they are biodynamic. This simply means none of the plant is wasted, every part is recycled. Learning these things, I decided to try out the crafted skincare for ageless beauty -- one of the company's slogans. When I received the Morganna's Brew Cleanser, I saw on the label that it contained fruit extracts. Available in a pump, the liquid is clear. Truthfully, I did not expect to be impressed. However, with a dollop of foam in my hand, I washed my face, and noticed the scent, which is very light and non-offensive. With my sensitive skin I did not break out! So again I used the clear cleanser. It is not something that knocks you upside the head with bells and whistles. However it is gentle, and since I use it often, I have actually noticed it tingling, deeply cleansing my pores which no longer appear enlarged -- as is often the case with oily skin. This cleanser also leaves no sticky film or residue, nor does it leave my skin feeling tight to the point of cracking. I must tell you. We've got a winner! Since I have used nearly all of this brew I will need to purchase another dispenser.

Quick note - among all the products that this company offers, there are even special care items. There are anti acne products including those to restore scarred skin. There is body care, and there are micro dermabrasion creams. I was impressed by the fact that there are also anti-aging products, because we are all 'moving forward.' One of these, called Morganna's Elixir, my mom tried. A woman who has always taken care of her skin, I had to 'convince' her to try the product so that I could truthfully write about it. Not easily swayed, finally she mumbled that she might. Ethnic Beauties, do you see what I go through, for you? Well my mom came through. A week and a half later when asked if she liked the elixir, her reply was, "When are you going to get me some more?" For her, that's a big thumbs-up.

Lovely ladies, and gentlemen, all of the products for multi-ethnic skin care needs -- Morganna's Potion, the Elixir, the Magic, and others are available online in the US. Go to the website and discover for yourself the magic of skincare for skin of color.

Many thanks also to Maya for allowing me to ply her with questions.
