Reed Diffusers

Reed diffusers are now very commonplace. You see them in grocery stores, department stores and almost everywhere gifts are sold. They have been used for centuries in Europe to release fragrant aromas throughout homes. Reed diffusers last for a long time, up to several months.

Since reed diffusers have no flame, people who don’t like to burn candles for fear of fire hazards have a new alternative to pleasantly fragrancing their home. No more worries about the baby pulling on a lit candle, or Rover and his long wagging tail knocking it over. The most famous candle warning is to not leave a burning candle unattended. In addition to having no flames, you also do not have to worry about soot or film on everything.

Reed diffusers are very simple to work. Pour the oil into a reed diffuser bottle and insert the reeds into the bottle. Turn the reeds over once in a while to expose the moist part. Continue turning the reeds until the oil has all been absorbed. Replace the oil when it is used up and start again.

Keep reeds that you have used to one particular scent. If you want another scent, you would need to use different reeds. Reeds are made up of little sections that look like tiny straws all bundled together. This helps them absorb the liquid oil that they are put into.

Should your reeds get “clogged” with fragrance, it is simple enough to throw them out and replace them with new ones. You will know when they are clogged as the scent will not refresh anymore when you turn the reeds over. Reeds are not that expensive to replace.

If you work in an area where candles are not allowed, reed diffusers could be used. Candles usually are not allowed in classrooms, hospitals, offices, and other public places. Some dormitories have a ban on candles as well.

Before you take a reed diffuser to your workplace, it would be best to get the approval of your boss. Remember, the oil in the bottle is liquid. If the bottle gets knocked over accidentally, it would be the same as spilling a beverage at your desk.

To enhance your home, there are many fragrances available for reed diffusers, including holiday scents. They make great gifts for the person who has everything. The one thing they will not be able to do, however, is to light up a room if the electricity goes out.
