Hello, and welcome back! I hope you´ve all stocked up on your reading material for the holiday week. In case you haven´t...well, heck, even if you have, I have three new books reviewed for you this week, so let´s get started.

First up is Catherine Anderson´s
Phantom Waltz (Onyx). Bethany Coulter is the perfect woman for Ryan Kendrick. At least that´s what he thinks when he meets her for the first time. Then he realizes she´s paralyzed. But for a man who´s played the field in the past, Ryan knows what he wants and doesn´t give up, and he wants Bethany. Bethany, on the other hand has no hopes of ever holding a man like Ryan--or any other man--in her condition. Watching these two try to meet in the middle, and overcoming both fear and stubbornness is a great read. I´m giving this one three of Cupid´s five arrows.

Next is
Amber by Lauren Royal (Signet). Now that her brothers are married off, they´ve decided it´s time that Kendra Chase has a husband. Kendra´s not happy with any of their prospects--all titled suitors--however, particularly after she has a chance encounter with a mysterious highwayman. Little does she know that Trick Caldwell´s title is one of the better ones, and by the time she finds out, they´re already wed. But there are secrets in her new husband´s family that must be resolved, and while trying to do just that in Scotland, this pair falls in love, surrounded by a family Trick never knew he had. I enjoyed this one much more than the last two in the trilogy, though you will see appearances by the couples from the previous books. This one earns three and a half arrows.

Finally, we have
Prisoner by Karyn Monk (Bantam). Genevieve MacPhail has a motley family: a half brother and assorted children she´s rescued from a life in prison. So adding Haydon Kent, Marquess of Redmond to her menagerie isn´t beyond her. Except he´s set to hang for murder soon, and getting him out is the least of her problems. After nursing him back to health, the pair must pretend to be married, in order to throw off the local law, and so that Hayden and Genevieve can find out who set Hayden up. Wonderful story, very touching. I loved Hayden and his confusion over his feelings for Genevieve, who is also a memorable character. This one earns four of Cupid´s arrows.
