WHAT: The awe-inspiring finesse of champions in the worlds of alpine & aerial skiing and snowboarding will kick off the ski season at the Boston Globe SnowSports Expo 2002, Bayside Expo Center, Nov. 14-17. The Boston Globe SnowSports Expo is all about winter fun, including skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing , cross-country & telemark skiing and snow tubing. Ski resort and equipment exhibits, interactive displays and demos, and the FreeRide Film Festival Theater will provide an exciting preview of Winter 2002-2003. Meet Olympic snowboard gold medallist Ross Powers from Vermont at the Burton booth. The Ski Market & Underground Snowboard stores host a giant pre-season sale right at the Expo and it's become THE place to shop for all one's winter gear. SnowSports Expo is the "insider's" connection to everything that's new in skiing and riding. SnowSport Personalities - Olympic gold medallist in the half pipe, Ross Powers from Stratton, Vt., and Tommy Moe, gold medallist in the downhill, from Jackson Hole, Wyo. Plus other winter heroes, skiing & snowboard adventurers, and some of the hottest pro skateboarders in the region.
Stowe Kids' Sno-Park and Snow Monsters Club - special interactive zone for the little ones, featuring a "fun bounce castle" and the lovable Snowball from the Snow Monsters club. Honda Element Pro Skateboard Competition at the Waterville Valley Street Course presented by WBCN - The ever-popular Fall Brawl features some of the best skateboard action in New England, with really radical thrills and spills.
