Hello, and welcome back! As I write this early on Monday morning, the September book giveaway of Jayne Ann Krentz's
Together in Eclipse Bay is happening over in the forum, and we're just getting ready to begin our September Book Club discussion of Lori Foster's
Say No to Joe?, also in the forum, so please, come join us there! We have lots of other discussions going on there--like what is the most over-hyped romance author, or what is your most memorable wallbanger--and all our regulars are quite friendly.
So, first up this week, I have the latest from Susan Meier, and the kick-off of Silhouette Romance's "Marrying the Boss's Daughter" miniseries,
Love,Your Secret Admirer Marrying The Bosses Daughter (Silhouette Romance #1684). The premise is that Emily Winters is trying to avoid her father's matchmaking schemes, so she comes up with one of her own: to do some matchmaking of the five most eligible bachelors in the office so her father can't match them with her. First up is Matthew Burke, and luckily, he's got an assistant who's half in love with him already. The question is, how to make Matt notice Sarah? How about making up a secret admirer to make him jealous? Trouble is, Matt's a little uncooperative. What fun. Sarah and Matt have just the right amount of stubbornness in their make-up to not have things seem forced, and the cast of secondary characters are believable and colorful. This story is a really fun read, and I'm borrowing four of Cupid's five arrows for it. I only wish the rest of the series were going to be written by Ms. Meier as well.
The other book I have to share with you this month is the latest in J. D. Robb's "In Death" series,
Imitation in Death (Berkley). This time out, Eve's got a copycat killer. Trouble is, the guy's not limiting himself to just one famous serial killer, but working his way through a list of many. I like Eve better and better with each book in this series, not to mention the ever-sexy Roarke and the glimpses into their pasts, the way little bits of information are revealed both to them and us with each new story. Of course Eve's going to get her man, it's just a matter of time. And a matter of an enjoyable few hours for the reader. I stayed up way past my bedtime to finish this one. I'm also giving it four arrows. Enjoy!
Until next time, happy reading!
