Caring For Beautiful Hair

Caring For Beautiful Hair
Beautiful hair starts with care. Here are some tips on how to take care of your hair and keep it looking beautiful.

Tip #1: Brush your hair before you get into the shower. Once your hair is wet it's at its weakest. Brushing your hair and getting the tangles out before you shower will cause less breakage. After your shower use a wide-tooth pick to prevent any damage made by yanking on your beautiful tresses. Another thing, before jumping into a swimming pool wet your hair down with regular water first so that there is no room left in the hair cuticle for the obsorption of chlorine or salt water.

Tip #2: Shampoo every other day (if possible) and brush through your hair at least twice a day to distribute the natural oils from your scalp towards the ends of your hair. A natural bristle brush works best. Without the natural oils in your hair then there is no protection. If you are prone to build up on the hair and scalp use a clarifying shampoo once a week. No more than once a week or you will cause your hair to become dry and lifeless.

Tip #3: When applying product to your hair, first emulsify the product through your hands. Next, apply the product starting at the back of your hair where your hair is thickest and oldest. After your done in the back, what is left on your hands can go in the front and on top.

Tip #4: Always use a thermal protectant. Your hair has an outter layer called a cuticle, it is it's first line of defense. Once you have burnt that off your hair is left with no choice but to soak up moisture and this causes frizz. If you continue to burn your hair it will become brittle and break off. Getting a deep conditioning treatment is a great way to strengthen your hair and give it the much needed moisture it deserves.

Tip #5: Towel-dry your hair thoroughly before using a blow dryer. You will save time and avoid damaging your hair with too much heat. When using a blow dryer use a nozzle on the end of it to direct the heat. You will have much more control that way.

Tip #6: Get regular trims, at least once every 2 months. If you go longer then your split ends with continue to split right up the hair shaft causing damage. Then you will need to cut off more length than you want to when you finally get to your stylist.

Caring for your hair now will save you the headache of trying to nurse your hair back to health in the future.
