How To Develop An Attitude of Success

You’ve heard it said before that attitude is everything. You can have an attitude of success or, you can focus on the negatives – it is totally your choice. Your success attitude will help determine whether you wish for success or actually achieve success.

I believe we choose to have an attitude of success. We create and cultivate an attitude of success based on the choices that lead us to experience and enjoy emotional, physical, spiritual and financial successes. Your attitude is your choice.

I’ve found five predominant attitudes of success - see if you agree with my observations.

1. Successful people have an unwavering belief in themselves and their ability to set and achieve goals.

Belief in yourself and the right to have and enjoy success is a hallmark of a successful attitude. Without an unwavering belief in your talents, abilities and right to succeed, you’ll sabotage your successes.

An attitude of success believes that the future is unlimited. Why? Because the successful person knows they are in charge of their thoughts, actions and decisions. Successful people know that being proactive is a result of believing in themselves and their unlimited potential.

Your successful goal-achieving attitude begins with an unwavering belief in yourself!

2. Successful people attract other like-minded successful people.

Like attracts like. Successful people just seem to know how to attract other like-minded success oriented people. Have you ever noticed that when you’re upbeat and positive, you don’t want to be around negative dreamstealers? The same is true for success-oriented people. They prefer the company of other successful people.

Networking with other success-oriented people creates synergy. It becomes a positive mastermind group where they can share ideas, strategies and visions of the future. It’s more than a support network – it’s a collective of like-minded people heading toward empowering goals.

3. Successful people realize they are a product of what they read, listen to and watch.

What you focus on most often becomes your reality. Focusing on the negatives of the economy, weather, or the current world situation won’t do much to encourage and sustain an empowering attitude of success. If you’re looking for a way to become discouraged and a reason to become negative then planting yourself in front of a twenty-four hour news channel could be just the way.

A successful attitude flourishes on positive empowering books, encouraging CD’s and success-oriented live events.

4. Successful people believe they are unstoppable.

There is a powerful inner confidence that comes with an unstoppable success mindset. When I think of unstoppable, I think of perseverance, determination and persistence. Setting “doable” goals is a key factor in developing and maintaining the success mindset. Knowing what you want, why you want it and how you’re going to make dreams reality leads to perseverance, determination and persistence – all of which lead to an attitude of success.

5. Successful people keep looking and going forward.

The past is the past. Success goal oriented people have learned from the past and are positively heading toward the future. A positive and healthy success attitude does not leave time for second-guessing or self-doubt. There also isn’t any room for “woulda’s, coulda’s and shoulda’s.” Your successful future is too bright to dwell on the past.

On a scale of 1 – 10 (10 being highest) how would you rate your attitude of success?
