Sports Body Art Branding Goes Über-Mainstream

Do you love a sports team so much that you own clothing that features their logo? Do you like to wear their colors? Have you ever painted yourself with the team colors or logo for a big match-up or championship game? Do you love your team so much that you would get their mascot or logo as a tattoo? How about if you could get that body art while you were at one of the team's games?

If you are a fan of the NHL, specifically the New York Islanders, your dream is about to come true. In partnership with Suffolk, Long Island tattoo shop Tattoo Lou's the franchise is going to be offering fans who come to Nassau Coliseum games during the 2011-2012 season the chance to take home more than the memory of a good game.

During ten of the Islanders home games at Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, NY the tattoo shop will be setting up a total body art experience for the fans. In the main concourse of the venue, those who feel their love for the Islanders needs to be a bit more than skin deep will be able to indulge in sports-themed body art. Tattoo Lou's "Penalty Box" will be a full-service tattoo and body piercing stop, offering on-the-spot ink and piercings, all with Islander themes of course. Just like in their usual shops, tattoo artists will be on hand to create Islander-themed tattoo designs, or any other original tattoo work, and you can get your ink while watching the game on closed circuit television. Just remember, while the tattoo artist is working, don't move or jump around!

For piercing fans, body piercing services will be available, along with Islander logo jewelry. For those who'd prefer to keep their fandom removable, temporary and airbrush tattooing will be offered as well. And if you just like to admire body art, there will be a full line of tattoo-theme t-shirts featuring hockey and Islander logos.

And don't forget to come to the game early and bring your camera! Tattoo Lou's will also have "Ink Girls" walking around and available for taking pictures.
