Doubledipity: More Serendipity Quilts Review

Doubledipity: More Serendipity Quilts Review
I was recently at a retreat where the most wonderful quilts were created using the technique sometimes called Stack n Whack. Boy was I impressed. These quilts were one of a kind creations that just stood out from the rest. I thought to myself that I really must learn how to make these quilts. Well, luckily for me I received a complimentary review copy of Sara Nephews latest publication Doubledipity: More Serendipity Quilts.

Now, I have to say, this book is chock full of information. Absolutely brimming with well thought out instructions, diagrams and photographs. The first section is a little wordy, but I have found that reading several times over the instructions helps to get it in your head and have had no trouble applying the instructions to my fabric. Sara has taken the time to explain the smallest of details and has successfully described what is a rather complicated technique, clearly and succinctly.

Following the basic instructions Sara has created 29 different blocks that can be made using this stacking technique, and each and every one of them is brilliant. Each block set of instructions is accompanied with the cutting instructions, the piecing instructions and a great overview of the quilt once pieced together.

Border details are not forgotten, and there’s a vast array of borders that will work fantastically with these unique quilts.

I thoroughly recommend this book for the quilter who is looking for a challenge. Congratulations to Sara on another wonderful book for quilters.
