Scattered Thoughts - My Two Cents

Scattered Thoughts - My Two Cents
First, I would like to say --- WELCOME New York GIANTS to Indianapolis, Indiana - my new hometown since leaving New York. Yes, I am a transplanted New Yorker, ever since my daughter gave birth to my grandson - this is where I have put down new roots.

I don’t know very much about football - so I will write about what I do know.

With that in mind, on to some of my random thoughts. I’m going to throw out there some thoughts on values and priorities to you, my viewers. One of my personal ‘no-no’s’ in life is when men throw over their ‘significant others’ for what they think are greener pastures - so, when you mention SuperBowl, it brings up the name, Tom Brady, and along with his professional history, it brings up reminders of his personal history as well.

I have just read in today’s New York Post as well as online that his wife, Gisele Bundchen, (for those of you who don’t know who she is - she is a so-called 'Supermodel' that makes oodles and oodles of money) has reportedly sent her family and friends an email request asking them all to pray for her husband, Tom Brady, so that he may win the SuperBowl. Say What?? What would qualify either of these two, Gisele and/or Tom, to be given such special treatment? I wonder how Bridget Moynahan tolerates hearing galling things like this from the Brady camp. What Chutzpah! If they were smart they would themselves be praying to be forgiven for the callous way Ms. Moynahan was allegedly treated, being tossed aside at about 8 or 9 months pregnant with Brady’s soon-to-be son a few years back as Brady strayed. I guess Leo DiCaprio didn’t quite work out for Giselle - and the rest is history. Has she no shame? It doesn’t get much more tawdry and tacky than the kind of behavior those two have exhibited in the past.

Tom Brady and Gisele are poster adults for how NOT to behave if you want people to like you, and more importantly, respect you. Ms. Moynahan has acted with dignity and grace by taking the high road with regard to how she was treated just as she was about to become a new mother - Classy lady. She kept the focus on her son and what would be best for him. Gisele could certainly learn from her.

The last thing I care about is making Tom Brady and his wife happy with a SuperBowl win. With that in mind -- GO GIANTS!

I'm like a run-away train on this subject - can't stop now.

Another example of a bad seed of husband is Brad Pitt. I used to love Brad but that was pre-‘Brangelina’ days when he hooked up with Angelina Jolie, after their meeting on the set of ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith‘, while Brad was still married to Jennifer Aniston. Although ‘Brangelina’s’ alleged alliance at the time was trying to stay under the radar, it was reported (by her own seamstress) that Angelina was having her seamstress make up maternity outfits that were form-fitting - what does that tell us? She was ‘passively-aggressively’ flaunting her pregnancy. Not to mention the tacky photo shoot they did for a magazine while he was still married to Jennifer. To me, that shows such callousness. Do these women think that it is a feather in their cap to ‘land‘ a man who is/was already taken? What happened to dignity and self-respect? .

Another example, as much as I hate to even bring up politics and strange ‘bedfellows‘, especially at this time, is Newt Gingrich - whose former wife was recently interviewed about the breakup of their marriage (shown on several national TV news shows) and the way she claims he ended it - she said words to the effect that he suggested she was being ’greedy’ not to share him and agree to an ‘open’ marriage - this while she was being treated for cancer. Oh boy, yeah, what a prize package he is. So much for “…in sickness and in health…talk about bad ‘karma’!! After her interview, that ’karma’ came back to roost with Gingrich - just like a boomerang. It couldn‘t happen to a ‘nicer‘ guy. He has plummeted in the polls with a bullet. I believe this singularly has now cost him any hope of being elected as the Republican candidate for President. Yes, integrity/character is still, and hopefully always will be, what makes a good President. Somehow, every time I thought of Gingrich in the White House -- his former paramour, now wife, just didn’t fit my idea of what our First Lady should be, which is a role model, someone to look up to, someone with dignity and integrity.

Sorry to digress - I went off the beaten track here - but nothing incenses me more than a man who walks away from his ‘significant other’, causing the ultimate humiliation when she finds out that she is usually the last one to know. These guys are such heels - it completely eludes me how their new 'love' interests don’t take a moment to realize that - the way you get a man is the same way you will lose him one day. Not that they don’t deserve for Karma to hoist them on their patard -- with no pity - yes, they certainly do deserve whatever bad karma comes back to haunt them for their tacky transgressions.

Here’s hoping for a safe and thrilling SuperBowl XLVI! Go Giants!
