| Take your needle underneath the felt and insert it straight through both layers of felt from the bottom side about 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch from the edge (or your preferred blanket stitch size). | ![]() |
| Pull the floss through the felt, inserting the needle through the small loop that forms from the front. This creates your first blanket stitch. | ![]() |
| Continue stitching around the egg white. Tie off the end of the floss securely and hide the end in between the layers of felt. | ![]() |
Making the Felt Bacon
| Cut the bacon patterns out from the printed sheet. Use them to cut one "bacon fat" from the cream colored felt and and two "meat" pieces from the maroon felt. | ![]() |
| Place the "bacon fat" piece on top of one of the maroon "meat" pieces as shown in the photo. Use a small, close whip stitch to sew the cream colored piece in place on top of the maroon strip along both edges (again, use three strands of floss). If the cream piece sticks out from the side, trim the excess (the felt can sometimes stretch a little while being sewn). | ![]() |
| This is what the bacon will look like when both sides of the cream strip are sewn down. Tie off the end of the floss securely on the bottom side of the bacon. | ![]() |
| Using three strands of the maroon floss, stitch the two maroon felt pieces together with a blanket stitch. Begin the blanket stitch as demonstrated with the egg white. Stitch all the way around the bacon and tie off the end securely, hiding the end in between the felt layers. | ![]() |
