Fall Comfort in Your Cup

Fall Comfort in Your Cup
Summer got a very late start here on the east coast, but fall arrived right on time. That does not seem very fair to me. Today is particularly bleak, rainy and cool, so it’s got my mind on keeping warm with delicious soups, rich stews and of course my favorite hot cup of java--not that I don’t drink it all year long mind you. But you know I’m all about the coffee and to lift my melancholy mood, I’ve come up with some new ideas to make it feel warm and comfy.

Apple Cinnamon Coffee-Massachusetts Bay Trading Company

Here is a very interesting coffee flavor--Apple Cinnamon. To think I could get my fall comfort-food fix without any of the calories seems like a great idea to me. It would give the house a pleasing aroma as well. “Our apple cinnamon coffee is sure to remind you of those wonderful fall season days,” according to their website. At just $2.95 per bag plus shipping, why get just one?

Green Mountain

Green Mountain is coming through with Autumn Harvest Blend and Pumpkin Spice. “Autumn Harvest Blend® is a medium-roasted Central American coffee with just a touch of hearty, dark French roast. Pumpkin Spice is a light-roasted, flavored coffee with enticing aromas of cinnamon and nutmeg.” Both of these coffees are available in whole bean, ground or the Keurig K-cups. These coffees are also Fair Trade Certified.

Coffee Syrups

Another great way to put comfort in your cup would be the coffee syrups. They are a great way to put a little sweetness and flavor at the same time without a lot of fuss. Coffee Authority has Da Vinci Pumpkin Pie Classic Syrup and Pumpkin Spice whole coffee beans as well. Add a fresh dollop of whipped cream with that and you will be in Thanksgiving heaven. To think you didn’t even have to turn on the oven to get that comfy feeling-wonderful!

International Delight brand has what else but a Pumpkin Pie Spice creamer, a quick way to put that cozy feeling into your cup. Wrap yourself up in your favorite robe or blanket and your favorite chair and you will be feeling warm and comfy in no time at all. They are available at your local supermarket.

Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte Drink

If you just want to grab something comforting while you are out and about, Starbucks is also ready for fall with one of their classic drinks available, The Pumpkin Spice Latte. “A delicious blend of pumpkin and traditional fall spice flavors combined with our signature espresso and freshly steamed milk, and topped with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spices.” Talk about comfort.

So pull out the blankets and get that fireplace ready because fall is heading your way even if it has not arrived already.
