Yes, I am the African-American Lit editor but I will be covering a range of topics dealing with writing, books, and authors in general. My newsletter will feature weekly articles and commentary by yours truly that I do hope authors and readers find useful and entertaining.
My site/newsletter focuses on specific genres written by black authors such as mystery/suspense, fantasy, sci-fi, westerns, paranormal, interracial romance, thrillers and multicultural books. Why? Well as a black mystery author myself I feel that my duty is to do all I can to dispel the myth that black writers only write street lit and erotica. There are so many black authors writing in many different genres and they often don’t get the exposure they deserve. Readers love writers who write out of the box and my site is proof that we’ve arrived and are here to stay!
I’ll cover issues important to both writers and readers. Writers will find an array of helpful tips ranging from how to get book reviews to what mode of publishing is best for you. Readers will get an inside glimpse of the writing world as well as author spotlights (by invitation only) featuring black authors that everyone needs to check out! Sorry but I do not do book reviews unless it’s a book I choose to read on my own. Please do not send me book review requests. I do not have time to devote to book reviews nor do I wish to review books due to the destructive behavior some authors display after receiving negative reviews.
