Back to School Lunch –Chinese Sandwich Recipes
Fall is just around the corner and that means children are once again on their way back to school and are in a need of a delicious and fun lunch. In China many children either purchase their lunches or return home to have their parents prepare them a delicious meal. Here in the US many parents pack bag lunches for their children, which often consist of sandwiches and snacks. Below are some fun Chinese inspired sandwiches that are perfect for a unique back to school lunch treat.

Egg Roll Roll-Up
A roll up is just a fancy name for a wrap. This one is filled with stir fried chicken and cabbage that has the flavors of garlic, green onion and ginger, making the perfect healthy and flavorful lunch.

Chinese chicken salad Finger Sandwiches
Spicy Asian chicken salad is delicious spread between mini baguette rounds to make fun little finger sandwiches. Just make sure that your child has a way to keep this refrigerated during the day since it is made with mayonnaise.

Asian Vegetarian Wrap
Wraps are a healthy alternative to dense bread, and this one is filled with a seasoned mix of delicious vegetables.

Sweet Chili Chicken Wrap
Another great wrap idea is to fill it with stir fried pieces of chicken that are tossed with sweet chili sauce and add some lettuce, tomatoes, carrots and green onions.

Asian Beef Wrap
For those who love red meat, this one is filled with flavorful stir fried beef and vegetables. You can also use chicken in place of the beef as well.

These are just some ideas for sandwiches for your child’s lunch. One tip on making the wraps so that they don’t become soggy is to pack the filling separate from the wrap itself; or you can roll some wax paper around it to make it easier to eat. Also any wrap or sandwich that uses mayonnaise like the chicken finger sandwiches above needs to be refrigerated during the day.
