Chinese Recipes for the Fall
Today marks the first day of fall, which brings in the cooler weather creating the perfect atmosphere to try some new warm dishes. Here are some of my favorites for the fall.
One of the first recipes to make to start off the season is Chinese chicken stock. The best thing to do is to make a large batch and then freeze it into several small portions to be used in future recipes through out the winter. This stock can used in egg drop soup, hot and sour soup, as well as in the sauces of some stir fry recipes. Click here to learn how to make this versatile stock.
The second recipe, perfect for the cool fall mornings is congee. Congee is a warm Chinese rice porridge that is eaten for breakfast in China. This porridge can be made either savory or sweet in flavor. The savory versions are usually topped meats such as chicken and eggs and vegetables such as carrots and onions. To make a sweet congee, this jujube congee recipe uses rock sugar and jujubes, which are also known as Chinese dates. The combination creates a rich, warm and filling breakfast. This recipe is perfect as the mornings become colder.
And finally, one of the most requested dinner recipes for fall is curry chicken with vegetables. Made with baby corn, mushrooms and spinach, this curry has a little spice which makes the perfect warm fall meal for the whole family.

Chinese Spare Ribs Recipe
These ribs are deep fried twice to make them nice an crispy. Then they are tossed, in a sweet and flavorful sauce that uses Chinese black vinegar.
Cashew Shrimp Recipe
Shrimp is tossed with cashews and celery slices in a white sauce.
Shrimp Curry Recipe
shrimp and mixed vegetables smothered in a delicious spicy and light curry sauce made with coconut milk.
Chinese Beef and Radish Stew Recipe
This beef and radish stew is a traditional Chinese dish flavored with soy sauce and ginger and made with lean beef and daikon radish making this healthier and lower in calorie than western style stews that have added flour and potatoes.
