Quick Weekend Quilts by Debbie Mumm

Quick Weekend Quilts by Debbie Mumm

If you’ve been around the quilting scene for as long as I have you will remember Debbie Mumm, in her early days. To purchase Debbie Mumm fabrics and patterns meant that you had “arrived”. That was back in the mid 1980’s! Debbie’s patterns were very country and considered the nexus of the naïve genre of patchwork and quilting. Debbie Mumm’s websites boasts 25 years of designing – congratulations to Debbie on a great effort.

The reason why Debbie has remained in the forefront of the quilting world is that she has kept up with the ever evolving modern style of quilting and in fact has been one of the main drivers. I recently received a complimentary publication (ebook) from Leisure Arts to review. It’s by Debbie Mumm and it’s titled Quick Weekend Quilts.

Debbie’s patterns have always focused on achievable and easy to understand patterns and designs and the forty five projects presented here are of the same high standard we expect from Leisure Arts and Debbie Mumm.

There are many little quilts and projects I’d like to make from this book. Lots of different sizes and genres – always a keystone to Debbie Mumm's patterns. The photographs really whet the appetite and the diagrams and written instructions are very user friendly.

One of the best features of Quick Weekend Quilts is that Debbie very cleverly, has indicated the amount of time it takes to make each project (and she’s been very realistic too!), and also includes a weekend plan for getting yourself ready to get onto any project and finish it in the weekend. Such a great idea for the busy mom/quilter.

The projects are varied from wall hangings, quilts, pot holders, totes and lots, lots more. Here’s another quality publication with easy achievable patterns from Leisure Arts and Debbie Mumm.
