The Ugly Truth

The Ugly Truth
Abby is a hot shot morning show producer who is romantically challenged. When her bosses bring in the over the top, chauvinistic Mike and the show’s ratings soar, Abby has her hands full dealing with his views on and off the TV. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “The Ugly Truth”.

· When Mike is in the gorilla suit while talking to his nephew backstage, a close-up of Abby shows that she’s holding her clipboard up, against her chest. It cuts to a wider view of all three with Abby in the background and she’s holding the clipboard down, near her waist.

· Abby and Mike are at the San Francisco Saloon and Grill. Mike is talking about the twins and the rear view of Abby shows her take a sip out of her glass and she’s then holding it up, near her right shoulder. It cuts to a front view of Abby when Mike mentions “the one who could read” and she’s holding the glass directly in front of her. The scene cuts back to the rear view and the glass is in the original position, near her shoulder. It cuts back to the back to the front view and the glass is down and out of sight.

· Mike sees Abby at the hotel and says “What are you doing here?”. There are two girls, one with long blonde hair wearing a blue dress and boots and the other with darks pants and a light colored purse and they’re in the background, behind Mike, over his right shoulder. But in views of Abby, the same two ladies wearing the same outfits are behind her, in the background just over her left shoulder.

· When Mike sits down with Abby at the hotel bar, a left rear view of her shows she’s holding her glass in her left hand and straw in her right. Mike takes the glass away for a sip of the drink and when he puts the glass back, her hands are up, folded together almost at chin level. They’re still that way when it cuts to the left rear view of her when he mentions Craig Ferguson. But when it cuts back to the front view, her right hand is on the table and she’s holding the straw in her left hand. The scene cuts back to the rear view and Abby’s hands are by her face again. When she mentions the CBS offer and says “you did”, her hands are back down on the table with the straw in her left hand.

“The Ugly Truth” (2009) stars Katherine Heigl, Gerard Butler, Bree Turner and Eric Winter. It runs 96 minutes and is rated R for sexual content and language.
