Love Actually

Can some couples find love during the Christmas season while others try to salvage it? Nine different relationships, including a mix of the British Prime Minister, an aging rock star, a single widowed father and a long time married couple, are put to the test in this romantic comedy that combines a healthy dose of laughs, love and the holiday spirit. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “Love Actually”!

• Daniel and Sam are sitting outside, on the bench overlooking the water. There are people walking behind them while they’re sitting there. In the first view, a woman with a long black trench coat walks past them. In the next, close-up view, the same woman walks behind them again.

• When Juliet drops by Mark’s flat to view the wedding video, she brings a box of pastry/pie. She puts the box next to the VCR. The pastry box and the VCR’s remote control appear and disappear between views throughout the scene. But at the end of the scene, the pastry box has finally reappeared at the very edge of the TV stand.

• After Jamie and Aurelia have attempted to retrieve his script from the lake, they are talking and trying to get warm in the house. When they stand to leave the room, the blanket around Aurelia alternates from being around her shoulders to being around her arms and then back to being over her shoulders again.

• During the Prime Minister’s press conference with the President of the United States, Natalie can be seen in the crowd, but the people standing around her alternate between different views. During close views, a man is next to her. In wider views, a blonde woman is now standing next to her.

• Harry is at the jewelry counter purchasing a necklace and is being helped by Rufus (Rowan Atkinson). During their conversation, a couple appears, disappears and reappears throughout the scene over Rufus’ left shoulder.

“Love Actually” (2003) stars Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Bill Nighy, Rory MacGregor, Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Martine McCutheon, Andrew Lincoln, Keira Knightley, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Laura Linney, Rowan Atkinson, Billy Bob Thorton, Thomas Sangster, Martin Freeman and Lucia Moniz. It runs 135 minutes and is rated R for sexuality, nudity and language.
