Applique BOM's for 2014

The quilting world is abuzz with news of new genres of quilting. Modern Quilting is new (not quite sure what it means, and will explore that subject another day,) paper piecing is making a comeback, as is hand piecing in general. Appliqué is a genre that you either love or hate – can do or can’t do and are either drawn to appliqué patterns or not.

I tend to think that most people still like the look of a traditional appliquéd quilt. There’s something a little timeless about the beauty of putting subtle colours together in a pleasing way and enhancing these colours with beautiful floral patterns.

I’ve been surfing and have come up with some interesting appliqué block of the month programs that are currently running. I hope you find something here that piques your interest. Some of these Blocks of the Month are free, others not so. Have fun!

Grandpa’s Pond is a free BOM from Two Sisters and a Quilt.

there’s three patterns available here, and they’re ePatterns which means you pay much less that if they were posted. From Fat Cat Patterns

Here’s a delightful appliqué pattern from Project House 360, titled Garden Gate

Shabby Roses home is a very pretty quilt and not very expensive either.

Sycamore Rose Block of the Month starts in Jan 2014.

Walk with Me is a free BOM by AJ Padilla and it’s all about SHOES!

this magnificent BOM is an appliquéd Baltimore themed quilt from Stitching Heaven

The Renaissance Quilt Block is designed by Michelle Hill and Aussie Quilt designer. Check out the many other BOM’s available from Stitching Heaven

Fiesta Talavera BOM is just gorgeous and comes from Stitching Heaven

Baltimore Liberty is a true Baltimore quilt BOM that comes to you from The Quilt Place. Check out the many other BOM’s available from Stitching Heaven

Here is the Dear Jane Quilt as a free BOM. I think you need to read the fine print here, but worth investigating!

Lil Monsters is a great kid’s quilt from A J Padilla

This Pixie Garden quilt comes from Jeanne Rae Crafts

A very folk Arty BOM from Sue Spargo

a pretty BOM from B Dieges.
