E.T. The Extra Terrestrial
∙ Elliott, Michael, Gertie and Mary are having dinner the night after Elliott first sees E.T. Elliott yells as Michael and his mother tells him to sit down. A close-up view of Gertie shows she’s leaning towards the table and holding her fork in her right hand. The scene cuts to an overhead view and Gertie’s hands are away from the table and her arm is by her side. Also during this scene Gertie’s steak is one size but it’s smaller when Elliott mentions Mexico. In the overhead view, when Mary leaves the table, the steak is back to its original size.
∙ Gertie immerges from her room with a red wagon. When Mary asks her what she’s doing, Gertie says she’s going to play in Elliott’s room. In the view of both Gertie and Mary, Gertie is only holding the handle of the wagon with her right hand. In the close-up, she’s holding the handle with both hands.
∙ The kids decide to dress up E.T. as a ghost for Halloween. In the front views of him, the eye holes in the sheet are a considerable distance apart. But, when Michael finds the sheet in the woods the next day, the holes are close together! (They’re also close together when the camera shows E.T.’s view from under the sheet, looking out.)
∙ CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! The ship has arrived to take E.T. back home. Before leaving, E.T. and Elliott hug. In the front view of E.T., Elliott’s hands are only on his shoulders. But when the scene switches to a front view of Elliott, his arms are completely wrapped around E.T.
∙ CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! Mary is watching from a distance as Elliott and E.T. say their farewells. She is originally on the ground, but in a close-up view of E.T. and Elliott, a view of Mary in the background shows her get to her feet. In the following close-up of Mary, she gets to her feet again.
