Graham Colton – Here Right Now
Guest Author - Michelle Anne Cope

October is not only about time changes, fall, pumpkins and things that may or may not go bump in the night, it's about music, new music. Mark October 30, 2007 on your calendar for this new release!

"I've never felt more like myself than I have on this album. I found myself, and I finally found my voice.” Singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Graham Colton.

Being yourself. I think that’s the hardest thing to do as an artist. What does “being you” even mean? To me, it’s creative license, an opportunity to take your talents, visions, dreams, as well as determinations, and share them with others in your own individualist style.

Graham Colton has found a way to be “just him” on his new CD, Here Right Now. This project combines Graham’s writing, singing, and playing into a 12-track musical notebook that is open to family, friends and strangers. By listening and looking close, you find the rawness of his emotions in his musical stories of love found, love lost, and life's trials and triumphs.

My Favorites:
Best Days – I really enjoyed the melody of this song as well as the writing. I love Graham’s concept. "Here comes the rest of our lives." It made me think that there are times when I wait for the best and I’m actually already right in the middle of it.

Forget About You – You know how I love to find novels in lyrics – Graham has a terrific start with this line: “It’s been one year to the day since I watched you drive away with only street lights glowing.” Just wow!

Cellophane Girl – I loved the imagery of this song. My favorite lyric – “Cellophane Girl, you’re playing your part in a cellophane world.”

I recommend this CD because of it's honestly in the lyric writing and Graham's presentation through his voice and his musical performance. It's simple and true with no over processing. Graham Colton's revelations about himself can easily lead the listener on a journey through their own moments of introspection.
