Think of a Country Word Trick
Guest Author - Lisa Shea

This fun mind reading trick has you guess a country, an animal and even a fruit!

First, write down DENMARK, KANGAROO, ORANGE on a piece of paper and fold it up. Give this to your victim.

First, some math. Have your victim choose a number from 1 to 9. Have them multiply the number by 9, then add the digits together (if it's over 9). Have them next subtract 5.

Now have them figure out the letter of the alphabet associated with their number - A=1, B=2, C=3 and so on. Have them choose a country starting with that letter.

Next, ask them to think of an animal that begins with the last letter in their country's name.

Finally, ask them to name a fruit that begins with the last letter of the animal's name.

Chances are that their guesses will match your piece of paper!

This trick has you reading your victim's mind, knowing what number they are going to end up with!

Have your victim start with any number - although warn them that they're going to be doing math with it so it should be reasonably small.

Ask them to multiply that number by itself. Then add their original number to that total.

Now have them divide by their original number. Now add 19.

Finally, have them subtract their original number, and then divide by 4.

Now have them assign a letter to the number with the A=1, B=2, C=3 technique.

Have them think up an animal that begins with that letter.
