Powerful Inner Motivators

It’s easy to get discouraged when things aren’t going right or aren’t happening fast enough. The key to going forward in positive ways is not to give up and to keep heading toward your goals one step at a time. Here are seven ways to fire up your powerful inner motivators.

1. Reaffirm the positives of going forward.
Getting discouraged when everything isn’t falling into place won’t help achieve your goals. Stoking the fires of inner motivation begins by revisiting and reaffirming all of the positive reasons for going forward, toward your empowered future.

Activity: Sit with pen and paper and write a list of ten positive and important reasons you will not stop nor give up before your goals are accomplished.

2. Reaffirm the BIG why for working toward your goal.
The ability to overcome obstacles and find inner motivation is tied to a burning desire to achieve something you believe to be important to mind, body and spirit. This is your BIG why for not giving up before achieving your goals. When the desire is strong and important enough, you can become unstoppable.

Activity: Write out in one or two paragraphs your BIG why for going forward. This is the BIG why that motivates you day-to-day and ignites your powerful inner motivators. With this why as an inner motivator, there is no way you’d ever stop before achieving your goals!

3. Reaffirm the benefits of making your goals reality.
There are times when it is easy to focus on the obstacles, especially if you’re faced with them in daily life. What counteracts the negativity is being able to reaffirm and focus on the benefits of achieving your goals.

Activity: Make a list of at least 10-20 benefits you and your loved ones will experience when your goals become reality. Example: Live in a better neighborhood, have the money to go to college debt-free, have a vacation home on the lake for family gatherings.

4. Reaffirm why you are worthy and deserving of success, happiness and unlimited abundance.
Discouragement often begins with self-doubt. Doubt can destroy motivation. The most powerful doubt often comes from not truly believing you are worthy and deserving of the good things your goals will bring into your life.

Activity: Affirm in one paragraph why you deserve to live a life filled with success, peace, happiness and unlimited prosperity.

5. Reaffirm the peace and joy of accomplishing your goals.
Emotionally, physically and spiritually what peace and joy will your goals bring to your life and the lives of the other important people in your life? Achieving, or not achieving, your goals can have a ripple effect on the lives of others.

Activity: Write out how your goals, once they are reality, will positively impact your life and the lives of others. Is that peaceful and joyful impact important and motivating enough to keep you going forward even if the going gets tough?

6. Reaffirm your commitment to success, happiness and unlimited abundance.
Have you made a physical, emotional and spiritual commitment to achieving your goals? A commitment is a pledge you make to yourself to not give up or burn out before achieving your goals.

Activity: Write out a motivating commitment for achieving and enjoying success, happiness and unlimited abundance.

7. Reaffirm the payoff for achieving your goals.
Have a clear and compelling picture of the emotional, physical, spiritual and financial payoff for achieving your goals. Use your imagination to see the life you’ll be living in the future, once your goals become reality. This affirmation and visualization must be powerfully compelling and exciting to your imagination!

Activity: Create a powerful and emotional visualization of the future. In your mind’s eye see your BIG why come to life. Visualize yourself happy, abundant and joyful. Feel yourself actually living this successful and content life – all because you’ve made your goals reality.

Not giving up before “payday” is about knowing how to tap into and consistently use your powerful inner motivators. What will you do today to stoke the fires of inner motivation?
